Inland boys and girls cross country runners to watch this season
Inland cross country teams are off and running this week as the 2023 season officially starts Thursday, Aug. 31.
Here is a list of the top boys and girls runners to watch this season.
BOYS
Joshua Agostini, Chaparral, Sr. — Finished sixth at last season’s Southwestern League championship meet.
Gabriel Castillo, Etiwanda, Sr. — Baseline League champion placed sixth at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Kael Jax, Big Bear, Jr. — Cross Valley League champion finished eighth at the CIF Southern Section Division 4 finals.
Jeffrey Keeney, Great Oak, Sr. — Southwestern League runner-up last season placed in the Top 30 at the Division 1 finals
Ethan Parcells, Rim of the World, Sr. — Won the Sunkist League title last season and the San Andreas League title in 2021.
Daniel Reza, Chaffey, Jr. — Had a breakthrough season as a sophomore and won the Mt. Baldy League championship.
Benjamin Rippe, Norco, Sr. — Big VIII League runner-up placed 16th at the CIF Southern Section Division 2 finals.
Gabriel Rodriguez, Great Oak, Sr. — Southwestern League champion finished fifth at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Eyan Turk, Woodcrest Christian, Jr. — IE Varsity Runner of the Year won the Division 5 section title and finished third at the state meet.
Emmanuel Wallace, Redlands East Valley, Sr. — Citrus Belt League champion was fourth at the CIF Southern Section Division 3 finals.
Micah Watson, Fontana, Sr. — Sunkist League runner-up had a Top 30 finish at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Maximo Zavaleta, King, So. — Had a strong debut season and finished fourth at the Big VIII League championships.
GIRLS
Nicole Alfred, Rancho Cucamonga, Jr. — Baseline League champion finished 12th at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Arielle Avina, Murrieta Valley, So. — Southwestern League runner-up placed 15th at the CIF Southern Section Division 2 finals.
Rylee Blade, Santiago, Jr. — IE Varsity Runner of the Year placed third at the CIF Southern Section and CIF State Division 1 finals.
Audrey Buckley, Santiago, Jr. — Big VIII League champion finished 11th at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Denise Chen, Claremont, Sr. — Palomares League champion placed seventh at the CIF Southern Section Division 2 finals.
Braelyn Combe, Rancho Cucamonga, So. — Fourth in the Baseline League and 16th at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
L’Mio Edwards, Claremont, Sr. — Captured the Hacienda League championship last season while running for Diamond Bar.
Erika Kirk, Vista Murrieta, Jr. — Placed third in the Southwestern League and ninth at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Hailie Lomeli, Citrus Valley, Sr. — Citrus Belt League champion finished 11th at the CIF Southern Section Division 2 finals.
Madilyn Siana, Rancho Cucamonga, Sr. — Baseline League runner-up placed 17th at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Avery Smith, Great Oak, Jr. — Finished fourth in the Southwestern League and 19th at the CIF Southern Section Division 1 finals.
Abygail Villareal, Citrus Hill, Sr. — Mountain Pass League champion placed eighth at the CIF Southern Section Division 3 finals.
